Interview- Aberdeen And District Disabled Multisport Coaching Group

By: A.H.

This is the first, of hopefully many, of our radio style interviews with people involved in disability activism of all types.

We sat down and spoke to Alistair Williamson, from Aberdeen and District Disabled Multi-Sport, who have been providing coaching and access to sport for people with disabilities in Aberdeen and the surrounding area since 1996.

In that time, Alistair has taken teams all over Europe and has even coached medal winners at the Special Olympics. However, it’s not just for the super-competitive- it’s the joy of the game that matters the most. And there are a wide range of games which you could take part in.

As well as the sport there is the chance for travel and cultural exchange with groups from all over Europe. They are currently trying to set up a series of games closer to home which will attract groups from all over.

If you’d like to get involved you can contact them through their Facebook page which can be found here.

If you’d like to be the subject of our next interview then please get in touch with the office.
