Have you ever had those little messages appear on your Freeview TV that advise you to re-tune as Channel Information has changed? Usually after re –tuning and then checking to see what is new about the list on offer, it is usually yet another unwanted shopping channel.

That happened just recently and on checking I found a couple of new radio stations, and one of them was of interest to those from the sight –impaired community.

Insight Radio, the Radio Station of the RNIB is now available UK wide on Channel 730 on Freeview Television.

“Insight Extra is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week radio service, giving the audience the chance to hear unabridged audiobooks, articles from popular magazines and newspaper publications and a range of programmes from all around the world.”

Freesat, the satellite version of Freeview , which requires your own satellite dish and set –top box, has the station on channel 777.

For those who have Sky it is on channel 0188.

You can also listen via Smartphone by downloading a Radio Player App from your I –phone or Android device app store.

Listening via Radio on FM is available only in the Glasgow area meantime. That frequency is 101 FM

You can of course just go online and listen to the station live at http://www.insightradio.co.uk/ using the pop –up player.
